As students start returning from their summer holiday break there’s one thing that’s noticeably different this year and it has to do with canvas bags. They’re everywhere, I work near a prominent New York university and the amount of students walking around with canvas bags has doubled, it’s the latest trend on the streets. It’s great to see all the young people embracing this environmentally friendly trend and it’s slowly rubbing off on the rest of society. The plastic bag has been the ultimate product of convenience, a product that we’re all guilty of using. If you didn’t know plastic bags are a petroleum based product.
